A Vampire's Halloween

Leaves crunched loudly as Amber Monhagen walked down the path leading the the dorms of Cross Academy. Her long black hair trailed behind her as the wind lightly pushed it, making it sway in the wind. Her fit, skinny body also sway in time with her hair, as if dancing to an unknown and unheard beat. As she walked, her stormy green grey eyes glanced at the day students passing her, each giving her a smile or adoration. To each smile she received, she gave a smile in return, seeing it only to be fair.
Once she was only a bit away from the dorm, someone came behind her and wrapped their arms around her waist, placing their face near her ear. "Happy Halloween." Whispered the voice in a husky tone.
"Zero!" She cried, recognizing his voice immediately.
Zero chuckled lightly as he kept his arms tight around her waist.
When she heard him chuckle, Amber couldn't help but smile happily and blush lightly. Out of all the people at the Academy and outside of it, Zero only ever smiled or laughed with her, and knowing that both warmed her insides, and made her heart ache that he hadn't found important people in his life.
"What time do you want me to get you for the Halloween Ball tonight?" Zero asked as he finally loosen.ed his hold on her, allowing her to turn and face him.
Amber turned and looked up at him, her eyes wide. "Ball? But I don't have a costume!" She cried.
Zero just smiled down at her, a glint in his eyes that she knew all too well. "Follow me." He said, releasing his hands and holding his left on out for her to place her hand on.
Amber quickly placed her right hand in his left, eager to see what he had for her. As soon as her hand was in his, he puled her off campus to a small costume shop in town. As soon as Amber saw it, her eyes lit up and she gave him a hug.
Zero hugged her back, a smile full of love and care on his face. "Come on, let's go inside." He said as he open.ed the door, motioning for her to enter first like the gentleman he was.

~*~ Two Hours Later ~*~

The courtyard at Cross Academy was a Halloween lovers dream come true. The theme for how the ball was decorated was the Nightmare Before Christmas. There was the curved hill in on of the corners, and Jack Skellington with Sally in a corner, looking longingly in each others' eyes, and the small ghost dog, happily prancing around. The floor was covered with so much fog, that nothing was visible from the mid calve down. Everyone was chattering away to one another until a couple walked under the black rose archway at the entrance of the courtyard.
Amber had mask on her face, framing her eyes perfectly, bringing out the green in them. It was all black with black lace around the eye holes and on the perimeter of it. She wore a beautiful black Victorian style dress with layers on lace on the skirt and a beautiful bodice that hugged her figure perfectly. Beside her stood Zero with a midnight black tux and simple black mast on his face, bringing out the beautiful violet of his eyes. The two entered quietly, Amber's arm looped around Zero's. Though the two were quiet, everyone else murmuring to each other, trying to find out who the two beautiful and mysterious people were.
Once they were at the far end of the party, Amber turned so she was facing Zero and gave him a smile. As she did that, she felt something, like a tickle at the back of her throat, causing her smile to decrease slightly.
"What's wrong?" Zero asked in a slightly worried tone upon seeing that.
"It's nothing." Amber said, giving him a reassuring smile as she felt the tickling grown slightly. Not now, please not now. She thought to herself.
As soon as Amber finished talking, a slow song came on. As soon as the first few notes of the song started playing, Zero placed his to hands on her waist, pulling her close to him. When he did that, Amber laced her arms over his broad shoulders, placing her head in the crook of his neck. As soon as her head was placed down, the tickle grew into a light fire burning in the back of her throat. "Zero?" She said.
"Yes?" He asked, placing his cheek on the top of her head. "What is it?"
"You know what we made each other promise when we became close?" She asked him, her breath going uneven as her gaze focused on the vein in his neck.
When he heard that, Zero pushed her at arms length and examined her, his eyes wide in surprise. "No..." He whispered, pulling her out of the ball. As soon as they were away from the night and day class student, he stopped and turned to her again.
Amber looked up at him, her eyes sad, but something was off in them. As Zero continued to stare at her, he noticed that they looked as if a drop of red food colouring was dropped in each eye, and it was spreading. "My time has come Zero." She whispered. "You promised me that if I ever fell to level E before you, that you would be the one to end my life. And I promised to do the same for you."
But Zero wasn't listening. He kept shaking his head back and forth, saying "No, no, no." Over and over again.
As Amber watching him do so, her eyes welled with tears. She tried to blink them away, but instead they fell down her cheek. While she cried, her vision started going black as if she were being pushed deep inside her body to a place where she could never escape. "I love you..." She whispered as everything went black.
Zero quieted down as he felt her leave him, leaving an insane level E in the body of the woman he loved. He walked close and hugged her, pulling out the Bloody Rose gun and placing it above her heart. "I love you too..." He whispered as he pulled the trigger.
Amber gasped as the bullet went through her heart, killing her immediately.
Zero caught her body and slowly lowered himself to the ground, holding her close to his chest. "Happy Halloween." He said, kissing Amber's cold lips before she turned to dust in his hands, tears steaming down his face.

Numb.

It was four in the morning. Everything was dark. Even the moon had left, leaving me alone.
Tossing and turning in the bed, I tried to fall asleep. Each time my eyes closed, I kept seeing all of my attempts.
The noose.
The cutting.
The plastic bag.
All failed.
At the end of it all, I kept seeing water.
The bathtub.
The stream.
A lake.
Our pool.
All calling me, silently whispering my name.
Come Sasha. Come. Your time is here. Leave a note on your bed. Then dissapear. They chanted is a low whisper, almost hypnotic.
Opening my eyes again, I looked up at the ceiling, then my beside table which held my diary.
Reaching over, I grabbed it. As soon as my hand touched, a cold feeling went from my fingers all the way to my chest, causing me to wince lightly.
Opening the diary slowly, I grabbed my pen and placed it on the paper. As soon as I started writing, a storm started outside. Thunder and lightning, making me shiver lightly.
As I finish writing the first note, I notice how numb I feel. I haven't cried yet like the other times I wrote these notes. What does that mean?
I flipped the page, writing the next note. I'm not sure what I was writing. All I thought was [i] The tub? The pool? The stream? Or the lake?[/i ]
The notes finaly finished, I open.ed my tablet, logging onto two sites, kakao, then kik. With each tap of my fingers, I felt my chest squeeze again. Letting out a small squeek, I finished my final goodbyes.
Standing up, I looked at myself in my mirror. My white night gown made me look even paler than I already was. My black, brown, and red hair hung around my face, messy and wild. My eyes were dark and empty, showing nothing.
Turning away from myself, I grabbed my skull safety pin necklace and placed it around my lightly brused neck. Not bothering to put on shoes, I walked out of my room. Down the hall. Down the steps. Through the corridor. Out of the house.
My feet walked on their own. I didn't know where I was going until I got there. The waves crashed loudly together. I stared at them, unafraid. Kneeling down, I grabbed stones and placed them into the pockets of my night gown. They were so heavy they threaten.ed to rip them, but they stayed.
I stood, then took a step foreward. I was so numb. I didn't even feel the cold water crash againt my legs.
I was waist deep when a tear fell down my face. I walked on. Shoulder deep now. Two steps. Chin deep. Gulp of air. Three steps. I'm under.
I continued to walk, my eyes closed as I held my breath. The rocks kept me under.
I stopped walking once I was deep enough.
You know how they say when you are dying, your life flashes before your eyes? They were right.
I saw everything. But they all came back to my girls. My six beautiful friends.
My throat started hurting, so I finally let out the air. As water entered my lungs, I struggled lightly but soon gave up.
The last thing I saw was my family, minus my dad, my girls, Nikk, Izzy, Jasmine, and Levi. The ones that kept me alive so long.
Then it was black.

One day, a few years ago, a boy and his mother moved into a house in Cerbary Hill. They had come from states away. Now you see, the little town of Cerbary Hill had one rule. Don't go out past 7 on Fridays.
The week after the mother and son moved in, the mother told the son to go out and get milk, as they had run out.
The son, who was seven years old nodded, sending his sandy brown hair into his stormy blue eyes.
Walking to the shop, people stared at him through closed drapes, silently watching.
When he finally reached the shop, he noticed that it was closed.
He quietly knocked on the door.
No answer.
After knocking a few more times, a man finally came, opening the door only a crack. "Boy, what are you doing out?" He asked in his scratchy, deep voice.
"Gettin' milk, sir." He said in his high pitched voice.
"Do you know what day it is?"
"Friday, sir."
"And what time?"
"I don't know, sir."
The man then open.ed the door a bit wider. "It's seven thirty." The man said, a sad look on his face.
The boy looked up at him, feeling very confused. "What's the matter, sir?" He asked, wanting to know why he was frowning.
"You mean, no ones told you the story of 'Click, Click, Side'?" He asked him, his voice filled with pity.
"N... No. Can you tell me?" He asked.
"Well son, years ago, a woman here worked in a factory. She was the only woman who worked there, and this bothered the men. So the men messed up with the gears of the section the woman worked in so it would look like she was incapable of working. The next day, a loud scream was heard all across town. The woman had gotten dragged into the machin and- well, she died, loosing her legs. Now, she all males who are out and about on Friday after seven pm get a visit from this woman. Every time she visits, these men are either never seen again, or found dead the next day." The man said, using his eerie story tellers voice.
The little boy looked up at the man, eyes wide and scared. "Th... That means..." He said, unable to finish the sentence.
The man nodded grimly. "It was nice knowing you kid." He said, closing the door.
As soon as it was shut, the boy ran home, locking the door after him.
"Boy, where is my milk?" She asked, her voice filled with disappointment.
"All... All the shops we're closed." He said, walking into the kitchen. "Mamma, a woman's gonna kill me tonight." He said, his voice shaking.
"That's great dear." The mother said as she flipped through the newspaper.
"What if she comes and gets you too?" He asked.
She put her newspaper down. "Then why don't you sleep in the backyard in the tent? I'll give you a walkee talkee." She said.
When the tent was finished, the mother gave her son a kiss on his forehead. "Love you dear. Don't let that woman get you." She said with a slight chuckle.
After she left, the boy held his walkee talkee to his mouth. "Mamma? You there?" He asked.
No answer.
"Mamma?"
No answer.
"Mommy!?"
"What?! Can I not go the the bathroom in peace?!" She snapped angrily.
"S... Sorry." He said.
"Now go to bed."
"Okay." He said, and with that, he fell asleep.
Suddenly, a sound came on outside the tent, waking the boy. "Mom?" He whispered, expecting his mom to answer. When nothing came, he lifted the walkee talkee to his mouth. "Mom, somethings outside."
No answer.
"She must be asleep." He whispered, trying to assure himself, but it made him even more scared. Suddenly, the noise started up again, and he heard something that set his poor heart racing.
Click. Click. Slide.
The boy pressed the call button on his walkee talkee, trying to reach his mother.
Then, a shadow came up at the bottom of the tent, and the zipper started slowly unzipping.

The day after, all the news stations were filled with the disappearance of Ms Joanna Pierce and her son, Alex Pierce. They still have not been found to this day. Little do they know, that they are now lying in a pile on the basement of the old factory the lady had died in which is now closed down, with a bunch of other bodies.

Silent Companion

Beautiful. That's one way to describe the way it dances in the wind.
Colours. So vibrant and pure.
Warm. So warm.

My company when I am lonely.
My comfort in the night.
My savior, when I'm frozen.
My happiness in light.

A reminder of days lost and forgotten.
Near the lakes,
Inside the shelter of little tents.
The moon shining brightly.
The stars like twinkling jewels.

My dear friend.
My companion.
My light.
Treasure you always, I will.
For when you are ablaze, I'm no longer alone and cold.
You are my fire.
Though you are one, you are many.

My Bloody Valentine

"No! Kirito! You can't fight him! Please, stop!" I shrieked at the top of my lungs, unable to lift my body from the ground as Kirito stood to answer the Game Maker's challenge.
I should have expected it. He would never back down from a fight. Especially if it meant getting every player out.
His long black coat lifted slightly at the ends and his black booted feet carried him over to the GM. He stood ready in front of him, his black painted legs spread out in a fighting stance.
The Game Maker smiled, making my skin crawl with disgust. Pulling his weapon and shield out, he stood in front of Kirito, the same stance as him.
Kirito, seeing this, reached over his shoulders, grabbing the hilt of both of his swords in each hand. He carefully pulled them out. One black, the other a light green.
As soon as he held them before him, he attacked, which the GM easily blocked with his own sword.
They moved quickly. The only thing showing that they were fighting was the sparks that emitted from their swords when they collided.
They paused for a moment, both panting heavily. Kirito was shaking slightly, and his health bar wasn't looking to good.
The Game Maker, on the other hand, looked okay, his health bar lower than it was when the fight started, but higher than Kirito's by a bit.
That's when I saw it. The GM lifting his sword for a final bow to Kirito, using all of his strength.
Somehow, I was able to move from my spot in the ground. Maybe it was the adrenaline pumping through my veins, or that the GM had taken off the effect. I didn't know, and I had a feeling I wouldn't know.
"KIRITO!" I screamed as I jumped in the way, taking the blow that would have killed him.

"KIRITO!" I screamed, my eyes darting open. I looked at the blackness around me. It was just a dream... Just a dream...
Ever since Kirito had beaten the Game Maker, bringing us all back, I would dream of the place I called home for two years. Most of them were nightmares, like the one I had just had.
I gently pulled the cover off of my sweat filled body, swinging my feet over the edge of the bed.
My feet lightly touched the damp, cold floor as I walked to the bathroom attached to my bedroom.
Flicking on the lights, I looked at my reflection. My auburn hair was sticking out in different angles, mostly stuck to my pale white face. Gently, I lifted my fingers to my face, moving them. My dark brown eyes never left my reflection's as I did so.
They were filled with so much fear. The fear that I hid during the game, and the fear I held when around people.
My fingers traveled down my face, dropping to the handle of my drawer. Once it was open, they went to something I had been using way too much lately.
My fingers closed over the piece of cold metal, pulling it out of the drawer. Then, lifting it to my wrist, I pulled it quickly, wincing slightly at the pain.

      ***

Quiet footsteps echoed around me as I walked to the gardens in the school yard. My fingers lightly roamed over the cuts I had done that morning.
The piercing pain brought me back to reality.
When I reached the bench in the middle of the garden, away from eyes, I sat down, pulling up the sleeve of my black blazer and uniform shirt.
Sighing, I brought my wrist over and placed it on my grey kilt, bloody side up.
I sat there, just staring at them, not noticing that someone wqs walking towards me until he was in front of me.
"Astrid?" Asked the boy, causing my eyes to widen largely in shock as I tried to lift down my sleeves.
Hands wrapped around my wrists, pulling my arms apart so he could examine my wrists.
I tried to hold back a cry of pain as his thumb gently glided over my fresh scars.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, his voice full of concern.
I looked up at him, my eyes filling with tears. "Kirito, how do you tell someone that you're broken inside and no longer want to live?" I asked him quietly, the tears threatening to spill.
He made a sound like he wanted to say something, but instead he let go of ny wrists, wrapping his arms around me tightly, as if he could somehow hold me together.
"SAO... It really hurt you. I... I should have realised- should have known." He said into my ear.
I couldn't take it anymore. I let the tears fall, burying my face into the crook of his neck, my body shaking from the force of my sobs.
He stayed there, holding me. "We'll get through this together." He said, his arms tightening around my petite waist.
I froze at his words, pulling back slightly. "We can't." I said, which caused Kirito to let go of me, looking into my face with confusion.
"I'm broken. You deserve to be with someone normal." I said, though it hurt to get it out of my mouth.
A pained expression appeared on his delicate features.
"I love you Kirito, and that's why I have to let you go." I said as I stood up, running away from him.
I continued to run until I was inside the school, in the girl's washroom.
I walked to one of the corners in the room, crying my heart out until I felt hallow inside.
I stated in there, looking at the pink hearts around the room in confusion.
I decided to walk out of the room after five more minutes of staring at the hearts. Once outside of the bathroom, I walked to my locker, my feet feeling as if they weighed a thousand pounds.
Quickly turning the combination, I open.ed the door, causing something to flutter out.
I crouched down, my eyebrows knitting together as I thought of who could have put it there.
The paper was red, cut out into the shape of a heart. Inside where four words. "I love you too."
I turned around, hoping to see who had put the not there, but instead I found Kirito, one arm behind him.
"I see you got my note." He said, mentioning to my hand, his dark blue eyes looking into my face.
"Yo- You?" I asked, my voice faltering slightly.
"Happy Valentines Day." He said quietly, bringing his arm from behind his back to show a red rose.
My hand reached out and lightly took it. Then, before I realised what I was doing, I threw my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his.
He stood frozen for a moment, but then I felt him kissing me back, his arms going around my waist.
"Finally!" Someone cried, causing Kirito and I to pull apart, our cheeks bright red.

Forevermore

Small, twinkling lights lit up every building on the streets.
Children were happily chasing one another as parents watched from close by.
Happy couples held hands, gazing at the life the night brought to their dull city.
It was the Winter Festival, the one long awaited by everyone.
One couple, though, stood apart from the rest.
Long, auburn hair moved gently in the breeze as a pureblood held hands with her human love.
"Jasmine, aren't the lights just beautiful?" Asked the tall, blonde haired boy, his large green eyes looking up at Jasmine.
She only nodded.
Today, on the night of the Winter Festival, was the last night she had with this boy. This human. This love.
The Vampire council was forcing her to either change him, or leave him.
She couldn't change him. Not even if her life were on the line.
"Jasmine, is something wrong?" The boy asked, concern swimming in his words and face. He must have seen her troubled expression.
"No, it's okay Kyle." She said, making her voice as perky as she could, flashing him a smile.
She didn't want him to know what would be happening. She didn't want him sad.
Kyle sighed, knowing something was wrong, but he knew better than to press her for it.
"Come on, the fireworks will be starting soon!" Jasmine cries, pulling him as lightly as she could to the town square.
Kyle let himself get pulled, a smile forming on his face. He loved seeing her happy and excited.
They were almost to the square when suddenly Kyle was snatched away.
"Kyle!" Jasmine shrieked with worry. No, it was too early. They couldn't take him yet.
She ran, using all her speed, checking every nook and cranny until she found the ally.
There was Kyle, laying on the ground, blood dripping down his neck. Right beside him was a female vampire, teeth plunged into his neck.
"Get away from him." Jasmine said menacingly.
The vampire girl snarled, focusing her eyes on her. She was a level E.
Panic surged through Jasmine. The level E might have drank Kyle dry. But, as she looked at him more closely, she saw his chest rise and fall with each uneven breath. He may have been alive, but she knew one thing.
He didn't have long.
"Step away from him." She said, her voice insistent, almost pleading.
"How about you make me!" Yelled the level E, throwing her Brown haired head back, letting out a horrible screeching. The sound of someone completely mad.
While the level E was cackling, Jasmine saw her chance. She lunged towards the girl, two hards closing around her throat, lifting her off the ground. "Do I have to say please?" She asked menacingly, throwing her into a call, creating a dent.
"You little b-" The girl yelled, pulling herself up, but her words were soon stopped as a kick was sent to her face, knocking her backwards.
"Ladies don't talk like that." Jasmine scolded her, glancing down at her nails as if she were bored.
This caused the level E to get very angry. She squinted her eyes slightly with anger, a cruel line spread on her face.
She lunged towards Jasmine again, but she was ready. She dodged, movements to quick for the human eye, and the level E was pinned to the ground, Jasmine's lips near her ears.
"Any last requests?" She asked quietly.
The girl shivered slightly underneath her. "Tell my mamma that I always loved her. Tell her Zoe said I'll see you later." She whispered, her voice sounding so different than it had moments before.
Jasmine moved back in surprise, looking down at Zoe. The girl's eyes were filled with tears and her bottom lip was trembling, still covered in blood. This caused her to feel pity for the girl.
Suddenly, Jasmine was flipped onto her back and Zoe ran off, disappearing around a corner, into a large crowd.
What had just happen.ed? It seemed that the level E was able to break through, even for just a moment.
She lay on the ground, unmoving, looking up at the sky. But a scent snapped her out of her daze.
The smell of blood.
She got up and rushed to Kyle's side, dropping to her knees. Carefully, she pulled him into her arms.
"Kyle?" She asked quietly.
No answer came.
She brought her mouth to his neck, biting it in hopes that it would change him, but all she got was blood in her mouth.
Blood of someone who was no longer alive.
She pulled back, shaking his shoulders lightly, not believing what she had tasted.
"Kyle? Kyle?! Kyle!" She screamed, sobs shaking her body as her shaking lessen.ed, until there was no more.
She stayed like that, her body curled into a ball, her arms still around Kyle.
Her love.
Her life.
Her everything.
"I'm sorry..." She whispered, standing up, her love in her arms.
She had drunk the rest of his blood, making sure to spill heavily onto herself. Then, with quick movements, she went to the Hunter's headquarters.

><><><><><

That night, a pureblood claimed to have killed the boy she was carrying. All evidence, the blood covering her, proved that she had done so.
They killed her after taking the boy from her arms.
She was the last in her line of purebloods.
Her last words?
"I'll see you soon Kyle..."
