Kou's powers are those of various demon types. His most used ones are the kitsune (fox spirit) and bat wing demon. The fatal flaw in this power is, however, that his other personality, usually referred to as Yoko, has complete control, thus forcing Kou to not use it so much, as Yoko doesn't recognize allies: he treats foes and friends alike.

Kou was born in Okinawa, Japan. After finishing middle school there, he and his family moved to Osaka. He is well trained in various martial arts (when Yoko had done something again, he needed to protect himself). Yoko sometimes takes control at random moments, undermining Kou's confidence. He joined the literature club because all the other clubs were either full or filled with only boys (did I tell you he strongly dislikes being mistaken as a girl all the time?).

Kou is nice to his fellow clubmates, because he likes them. Yet he is also afraid of Yoko doing something to his friends, so he usually stays away a bit, but after they got their powers, he opened up a bit more, deciding they could take care of themselves when Yoko'd come.

Kou's family exists out of two fathers, an older sister studying in the Netherlands, and an older brother working in Tokyo.
