On a sunny day, being the perfect weather for a festival, everyone was out on town. There was a big carnival where they had rides, lotteries, cotten candy, you name it. They also had a market closer to town where they sold everything from food, to jellwery to bags, clothes, toys. The entire town was in a good mood, after all it was Central City and people were, at least more cheery than in Gotham.

Emi was happy that Wally had invited her to go with her. She'd been spending a lot of time with him ever since she found otu and they were just starting to go into their relationship. She didn't like it that he and D.ick wasn't talking to eachother, and she felt like she was caught in the middle of all of it, hoping they'd be friends one day again. She was still friends with the both of them, and Scarlett too, thank god. She had appologized to her, but she never wanted to hurt her or do anything to come between her and Wally and all that.

But right now she was just thinking about how she was gonna have a great day in Central.

"Okay, Scar, it's not a date, it's just a...get together with your best guy friend who you've liked since you were kids," Scarlett muttered to herself as she stood by the entrance of the carnival. Her family had already gone inside, since they didn't want to miss any of the fun either.

Yes, she lived in Gotham, but her family had heard of the carnival from D'ick when he was over one night for dinner and they all decided it was a good idea. Scarlet's mother had teased her that D'ick had "subtly" hinted that he wanted to go on a date with her, but Scarlet just dismissed the thought. D'ick liked Emi. That was that. and Emi was with Wally, or so she had heard from rumors and all that really "fun" stuff.

Sighing, she leaned on the rock wall, her feet bare so she could "see" better for her non-date.


"Excited?" Wally chuckled as he walked hand-in-hand with Emi to the entrance of the carnival. He could just tell that she was excited by the smile she had. Honestly, he was excited himself. Finally something fun and normal for them to do. No sneaking around, no him in his suit, just a regular couple going to a regular carnival on a regular day. What could go wrong?

(Man, I forgot to reply to this one yesterday. xD)

Emi looked at him and smiled. "Yeah!" She nodded. She had the feel this was gonna be the perfect day! "I love carnivals. All the rides, market, people..." She trailed off after just saying that, seeing Scarlett waiting by the entrance. Suddenly she got a lump of guilt down her stomach. She knew it wasn't her fault, but she still felt pretty bad. Her eyes then shifted to seeing her ex walk up to the blind girl... oh boy.


D.ick came up behind Scarlett and sweeped her off her feet. "Guess who?" He teased. Normally he would have covered her eyes, but since she was blind, well "blind" he did another version instead. So they'd both been feeling like **** the last days..., pretty sure they were both just heart broken, upset,... angry. Emi had talked to him the other day, appologized even though she had nothing to appologize for, and begged him to at least consider talking to Wally and sort things out. But she got it, and D.ick told her, he wouldn't just forgive Wally for what he did,... but D.ick also got that Emi was hurting by seeing the two of them fight. Of course,... in her eyes, he and Wally had always been best friends, and it was weird, even for him not to have it that way.

However, today D.ick was just longing for, or trying to have a fun day with Scarlett. He knew there was a risk of seeing Wally today, or his parents and uncle, which would be even more awkward. After all, the carnival was in Central City, but he didn't come there to argue, and hopefully he wouldn't bump into any of them... if he only knew it was a matter of seconds.


Emi didn't realize that she'd stopped. She didn't know why she stopped. "M-maybe we should take the back entrance..." She said, seeing as neither Scarlett or D.ick seemed to have spotted them yet. She saw them laughing when D.ick greeted her and she smiled. She didn't want for anyone to be upset... and she knew that there would be a tention if they bumped into one another.

Emi had no idea what Wally was thinking, if he'd noticed what she was looking at. She didn't want him to feel bad... even knowing the situation. She glanced up at him, seeing he'd stopped walking as well.

Scarlett let out a sudden gasp before laughing. "D'ick! Put me down!" she laughed, not helping but to get a small blush when he picked her up. However, she was a little thankful that he had swept her off the ground. For a second, she thought she "saw" Wally walking over with Emi. Yeah, she was a little over Wally, but not over the fact he had kinda cheated on her and also with his best friend's ex-girlfriend behind their freakin' backs! Yeah, needless to say, she held grudges and this one would not go away for a while. That was why she was with D'ick right now, going to have fun together at a fun carnival.


Wally had also seen D'ick and Scarlett at the front entrance and stopped, looking away. "Yeah, yeah, back entrance is good." He turned, taking Emi's other hand and going through the crowd to the back entrance. Of course they would be there...were they on a date? No, D'ick wouldn't go from one girl to the next in an instant flat like...well, like he did. But D'ick was better than him. He missed talking with his best friend. He really did, but he had done wrong, and was just too guilty to even face him.

"Well,.." D.ick chuckled. "Only cause you guessed right," D'ick sat her back to her feet and smiled at her. "You seem cheery today?" He commeted with a smile. It was nice. Actually, seeing her smile made him smile too.


Emi frowned but followed after him as he lead her threw the crowd. "You okay?" She asked.

"Is that a bad thing?" Scarlet smiled, looking up at him- or holding her head up. "I'm gonna spend the day with my best friend."


"Me?" Wally then grinned a little. "Yeah. Takes more than an awkward situation to bring my mood down." He was just trying to ignore the whole thing completely.

"Well, of course not. I am pretty awesome. Gonna feel the aster all day," D'ick told her, being cocky of course.


Emi smiled a little, glad he didn't seem to be that bothered. "Well, if your say so," She said.

Scarlet laughed. "Those dumb words, I swear," she teased him.


"I know so, so lets go!" Wally grabbed her hand, kind of dragging her to the ticket booth.
