Alright

Jackie opened her eyes. She was leaning on the small balcony out of this hotel room she called "home", totally feeling crappy after she had puked her guts up right onto the sidewalk. Last night she had found this dumpster outside of an Italian restaurant, thinking their food would be okay to eat out of, but of course, after a year, none of that food was still edible.

She wiped her mouth on her jacket sleeve and groaned. 'Wish I had a toothbrush and toothpaste... Hell, I'd be okay with a da.mn mint.' Sighing, she went back inside the room, shutting and locking the sliding doors before closing the blinds.

This was her life. Hiding out in old, crappy hotels, eating out of age old dumpsters, and just hoping that she hadn't attracted any unwelcomed visitors.

Brooke was just approaching what was left of Central City. She'd been walking for a couple of days now. She left camp this morning, finally arriving to one of the larger, remaining cities. She needed new supplies. Medecine, food, water, fresh clothes would be nice, but that wasn't necessary. She also needed to make some more defence supplies incase she ran into any "crazies".

It was hot, even if the sky was dark and gloomy. It was probably gonna rain later, expecting thunder and lightning she also needed a safe place to spend the night, or comming nights. That was what really sucked with this new life. Brooke didn't really have a goal in where to go, or what to do. The goal was just to survive, maybe hoping that Earth someday would recover, but to do that you needed to keep moving.

Even if she found a group of survivors she usually stayed to herself. She didn't want any pure catching onto the fact that she was gifted. Not that she wanted to be gifted. She never used her powers, scilently hoping they'd go away if she didn't, or that the risk of becomming crazy would decrease by hiding them.

Brooke sighed, taking her hair out of her coated forehead, stopping in the middle of the street. She saw there were quite a few survivors who set foot here. She noticed a few looking at her, but they didn't stare. It was a good sign. Strangers to cities wasn't unusal these days, and by the looks she knew they had to think she was pure, or at tops one of the gifted that wasn't crazy yet. Hey, even if you were pure you could go crazy, everyone had been affected by the radiation. Brooke just called herself lucky since she didn't get any outer "looks" showing she was gifted.

Brooke entered one of the shops there, seeing as there was one, she was suprised everytime she saw one running. But it was of course trashed, like everything else. People usually stole things of course. Barley no one used money anymore, just exchanging stuff was good enough. She walked over to where they seemed to have decent water running, where you could buy a bottle. Sighing she stood in line, already tired and even more so by listening to the one first in line bickering about something with the water.

The one thing that Jade, aka Cheshire, taught Jackie, was that to always keep moving. Do not stay in one place for too long. She especially executed that rule after both girls discovered that Jackie was "Gifted". Word got out that Jackie was one step closer to becoming a "Crazy", then the "local" community would not be very friendly.

So, now, Jackie got up, strapping her backpack to her back before clipping the side to her torso so it would not move or fall if she had to run or fight someone, or something, off. Inside the bag was maybe a half-full water bottle, a sort of moldy sandwich, some Tylenol that she had scored from a Pharmacy that was kind of crawling with Crazies, and the mask that Jade had gave to Jackie. She held the mask dearly, for that, and the knowledge the ex-League of Shadows assassin gave her, was all that Jackie had left of her. Without Jade, she would not have been alive to this day.

Stopping at the door, Jackie looked back at the room to make sure she had grabbed everything she needed, before she closed the door and walked to the hallway to the stairs. She refused to stay on the bottom of a hotel or house because its easier for Crazies to get her, since those monsters didn't know how to do anything except run, eat, scream, or just walk around slowly for it's next meal. Like animals.

She got to the bottom of the hotel before opening the door, checking out the area, which was pretty deserted, before she walked out, beginning to make her way further west.

Brooke finally managed to get her bottle refilled with drinkable water. There wasn't very many sources that had fresh water so whenever there was one, she had to fill her bottle. She exchanged some of the meds she had, because she had quite a few and she didn't need all of them. Well, she probably did, but not right now anyway, and water was more important.

Brooke sighed and left the store. While she was in a big city she was gonna spend some time to look for more supplies. There were tons of abandoned homes where you usually cound fine quite a few things.
