Bio: Jackie was born in a regular household. A mother, who was a lawyer at a respected District Attorney's officer. A father, who was well respected doctor within the community at the local hospital. A little brother 3 years younger than she, who, despite with all of the regular brother and sister relationships, got along very well with. She did ballet. She had her own room, which was pink, and covered in Disney princess wall decorations. She had so many friends who said they'd be with her forever. A perfect life, right?
Wrong.
At 7 years old, things began to go down hill when her mother and father got a divorce because of the affair her mother had with one of her colleagues, and her dad's response to developing a drinking problem.
With being a lawyer, her mother got custody of her and her brother, Erin. Jackie hated her mother, blamed her for everything. Because of the divorce, they moved half across the country from California to a town called Fair Lawn, New Jersey, right outside of Gotham City, away from all of her friend's, who all lost contact with her, didn't even write back or email. Jackie felt like she was all on her own. Well, she had her brother, but he was still too young to even comprehend what was going on. He still had innocence, the kind that was being stolen away from Jackie every day.
Her father wasn't a huge help either. Whenever he did come to see them, he'd be too drunk and get too angry to even have a simple conversation. One time when he came to see them, he had gotten so drunk and so angry at them, he threatened to kill both Jackie and her brother. Their mother had no choice but to get a restraining order out on him.
That was the last time Jackie ever saw her father. She was so angry, at both of her parents, that she began to cut them out of her world. With her mother being too busy with her new husband, going to dinner parties every night, leaving Jackie alone to watch her kid brother, and her father probably in jail or God knows what, the innocent, sweet, and princess loving Jackie was gone.
By the time she was 12, Jackie had began to slack in school, not exactly caring even though she was smart enough to pass all of her classes. She had dyed her hair all different colors, cutting it into uneven lengths. She wore black, cut up all of her dresses, and hung out with the "wrong crowd" instead of going to school. She acted like she didn't care if the world ended the next day.
Well, a year later, it did.
A bomb had hit right outside her town, wafting the coast and every city in radiation. Jackie had snuck out that night to hang out with her "friends". It was just apart of her regular routine, knowing her brother was asleep in his bed after helping him with homework and letting him have a snack. When the radiation had coated the city, Jackie had just passed out after the first wave.
She woke up a week later. Entirely unsure of what the hell was going on, she saw the bodies of her friends laying on the floor. Blood was seeping out of their eyes, ears, nose, mouth... She threw up right afterwards.
She had left the underground subway tunnel they hung out in, seeing the whole city covered in dead bodies, seeing most people died on the spot. Some people were still alive, like her, however...some of them had changed. These people had become the "Crazies". It was like something out of a zombie game. They were mutated, unsure of their surroundings.
When Jackie had went home, she found her mother, dead in the corner, a bloody knife in her hand, and there, in front of her, was her brother, who had turned into a "Crazy", but seemed to have died right after.
She stayed there, in that apartment, sure she was going to die, too. However, life didn't agree with her, when she woke up one day to a girl in a green Japanese like outfit and a mask going through the food they had in the kitchen.
The girl's name was Cheshire. That's what she told her. Jackie had heard about a girl with a cat-like mask. She made little conversation, and was going to leave when Jackie suddenly began to cry, finally breaking down in front of her. Cheshire was cold towards her, but when she finally saw that all Jackie was, was a scared kid, alone in the world. The usually cold assassin then comforted her, trying to make her feel a little bit better, saying she reminded her of her sister when she was little. Then Cheshire was going to leave when Jackie asked if she could come with her, scared to be alone. Cheshire refused, but after seeing how scared Jackie look when she had began to leave through the window, she reluctantly agreed and allowed Jackie to accompany her.
During the first year of the Apocalypse, Armageddon, whatever the hell people called it, Cheshire had taught her the "proper" way on looking out for themselves on the street, and how to survive when all you had was a couple of weapons and wits. The half-asian girl taught her things like how to make a fire, how to fight, and how to not let your fear show.
Also during the year, Jackie began to change....and not for the better.
She had woken up with a weird tail coming out of the small of her lower back. Also, when she looked in the mirror in the apartment she and Jade - the girl's actual name - shared, she saw her right eye had turned completely black with a small, red pupil and red veins spreading out inside. Turns out, Jackie had been affected by the radiation, now being one of the so called "Gifted" ones other than "Pure" than Jade. She was scare that Jade would kill her, so she tried to hide it, but it didn't last long. Jade found out, and instead of killing her, tried to get her to use that "tail" for her survival.
Over the span of 3 months, being 9 months into the first year now, Jackie had found out that her tail was good for keeping the "Crazies" away. When she even helped a couple of people when they were being attacked, even though Cheshire told her that being a hero was no good in a world like this, she felt good with her new powers. Things were okay in the life of both girls. They were an "unstoppable" duo...that is, until they became solo.
While Jackie had been sleeping, she woke up to shooting and screams, along with the savage sounds that the "Crazies" usually made. When she got up and went to see what was going on, she saw that some "Crazies" had broken into the building she and many others hid out in, killing them. They had become smarter, stronger, over the year. Jackie went to help, but Cheshire told her to stay back.
In the end, Jackie saw that Cheshire, who had actually gave in to helping a small "family", had gotten bit, knowing she was going to die, gave Jackie a sai and told her to kill her. Jackie wouldn't do it. She couldn't do it. It was then Jade grabbed her arm, told her that if she ever found a girl named Artemis, a girl with long, blonde hair and was decent with a bow, to tell her that she was sorry, and then made Jackie drive the sai through her head, killing her.
Since then, Jackie had been on her own. She stayed low, didn't help people who she knew were in danger, and has been on her own ever since. It was a lonely life, but it was the life to live in that world.
